If you are addicted to junk food. You aren’t lazy, you aren’t dumb, and you aren’t a loser, you are just another victim of a multi-billion dollar food industry whose sole purpose is to make money rather than provide nourishment. This article isn’t a guide on how to eat healthy. Its purpose is to jump-start you on the path to eating healthy and defeat a RIGGED system.
Google “how to stop eating junk food” and you will find a plethora of tips and advice. All are complicated, all requiring strict “discipline,” and I used neither nor recommend any of them. In this post you will learn my secret to how I stopped eating junk food and how you can also stop eating junk food. It has less to do with discipline, and more to do with being informed. After all, knowledge is power, and this post will give you the power to gain control of your diet.
Like most people, you are probably consuming foods that are making you feel lazy and sluggish. Like most people trying to get fit, you have probably already heard that before, and like most people, you still don’t know what the heck to do about it. The following information will change your life. Why am I so confident about this? Because it changed my life and continues to do so.
There are many ways to skin a cat (so I’ve been told), but this is how I stopped eating junk food and you can stop eating junk food too: Don’t consume products with High Fructose Corn Syrup.
I encourage you to go back and re-read the last sentence as many times as necessary to let it seep into your mind. If you have been living in America, there’s a 99.9% chance you have been unknowingly supplementing your diet with this cheap and unworthy substitute for sugar. Eliminating High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is the easiest, most efficient way to stop eating junk food, forever. If you don’t stop consuming HFCS, no matter how much you exercise, how great you supplement (protein, vitamins, etc.), or how great you diet, you will always be fighting an uphill battle to live healthy. When I say uphill, I mean Mt. Everest uphill.
Why is HFCS so bad? In brief, High Fructose Corn Syrup 1) blocks your body from absorbing nutrients and 2) causes hormonal imbalances. You can read this article I wrote for more information on the harms of High Fructose Corn Syrup. HFCS is so bad that European governments don’t allow foods with it in their nation’s markets. Hence, not consuming HFCS is one major reason why Europeans are thinner (and why Americans used to be thinner.)
Once I stopped consuming HFCS, it triggered a domino effect and I shed ALL the bad eating habits I had accumulated over the years. If I caved into cravings, such as eating a Big Mac, my stomach would immediately get upset and gassy. If I drank a soda made with HFCS instead of cane sugar, I would get a migraine that felt like brain freeze at the front of my head. I started feeling similar symptoms with every little junk snack I used to eat, including Hot Cheetos, one of my favorites since child hood. The best part of this, is I hate feeling those symptoms.
I developed an aversion to junk food by simply eliminating HFCS from my diet and you will too. That means you don’t need to psych yourself into being “disciplined.” I don’t eat junk food because I’m disciplined; I avoid it because it makes me feel like crap. After eating a meal, you aren’t supposed to feel like crap, you are supposed to feel nourished and energized. Once you start to feel nourished and energized you will never go back to your junk food eating ways and you will eat healthy FOR-EH-VER.
HFCS is only one harmful ingredient of many that are imbedded in American products. However, products that contain HFCS also contain other harmful ingredients. No food that is healthy for you will ever have HFCS.
The simplest, most sustainable way to stop eating junk food without relapsing is to take the first step: Don’t consume products with High Fructose Corn Syrup. The next time you go to the supermarket, read the labels. There is always an alternative for the food you want to buy. Simply opt for the item that is made with actual sugar. Eating sugar is not healthy, but it’s a galaxy away from the toxin that is high fructose corn syrup. Therefore, by making the small change of eating real sugar, rather than HFCS, you will see big improvements in your health.
Fortunately, avoiding HFCS is super easy and it requires very little effort. Read this article and I will teach you how to eat all the foods you love and still avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup and most importantly, get you on the path to fitness, feeling great, and being self-reliant. Once you have mastered not consuming HFCS, you will be able to eliminate all other junk from you diet, such as ALL PROCESSED FOODS. From there on, everything in your life will improve exponentially. All the diets, work outs, and the supplements you take will finally give you the returns you want and you will find there are some supplements you no longer need.
